Erie homes & our services

Erie roofing, gutters, siding, windows and paint.

Homey handles roof replacement, roof repair and hail damage in Erie, plus the gutters, siding, windows and exterior paint that storms hit at the same time. One local team, one photo report, one contract.

Census data puts the median Erie home’s build year at 2008: about 78% of homes were built in 2000 or later, 17% in the 1980s–90s, and 5% before 1980 (U.S. Census ACS 2020–2024).

Erie requires shingles with at least a 110 mph manufacturer wind warranty and inspects finals by drone, so we plan the shingle line and documentation around that.

What’s being built in Erie?

Erie is one of the faster-building towns on the north side. A May 2026 Town development overview lists filings under construction in Summerfield, Lafferty, Canyon Creek, Four Corners, Parkdale and Westerly, with public improvements underway in Erie Highlands, Ranchwood and Colliers Hill. HOA rules in Erie

Most Erie subdivisions are planned developments with HOA design guidelines. Get your HOA’s approval before the permit; we’ll bring samples that fit the rules. Colorado law bars an HOA from requiring wood shakes or other flammable roofing and protects fire-hardened roofing materials, though HOAs can still set reasonable look-and-color rules (C.R.S. 38-33.3-106.5).

Erie re-roof permit, in plain English

  • A permit is required when more than one square of roofing is replaced across the roof. Every slope being re-covered is replaced in full.
  • Erie requires a shingle with a manufacturer wind warranty of at least 110 mph. 3-tab shingles aren’t allowed on homes.
  • Existing roofing has to come off first (no overlays). Drip edge on eaves and rakes; ice shield only if the manufacturer requires it.
  • No mid-roof inspection. The final inspection is done by Town inspectors with a drone, requested in the online portal.
  • Homes with solar need a separate solar re-attach permit, pulled by a solar company or licensed electrician.

From a Homey customer

★★★★★
“I’m a second-time customer with Homey Roofing and Restoration, and once again, they excelled… We had hail damage from a recent storm, and with the help of the Homey team, I was able to get not just the roof but also exterior paint and gutters/downspouts added to my insurance claim.”

How long do I have to file a hail claim? →

How often does Erie get hail?

NOAA’s Storm Events Database lists 194 hail reports within 10 miles of Erie from April 2016 through June 2026, on 44 separate days. 149 of those reports were 1 inch or larger. Many storms are never reported, so the real number is higher.

Did hail hit Erie in 2026?

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center logged 1 reports of 1″+ hail within 10 miles of Erie between April and October 2026. The biggest was 1″ on Jun 26, 2026 (2 ESE Broomfield). A report nearby doesn’t prove your roof was hit; an inspection does.

How long do I have to report hail damage in Colorado?

It depends on your policy. Many Colorado homeowners policies say hail or wind damage must be reported within 365 days (one year) of the storm, but your policy may say something different. Read the conditions section of your own policy or ask your agent. Report as soon as you know about damage, and don’t wait for a leak.

Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Erie?

Permits for Erie homes go through Town of Erie, or the county if your address is outside city limits. We confirm which office covers your home and pull any required permit.

Can a roofer pay or waive my deductible?

No. Colorado law (C.R.S. 6-22-105) bars roofing contractors from paying, waiving or rebating your insurance deductible, or promising to.

How fast can you come out?

Usually within a day or two. Book online, call, or text (720) 948-5726.

Besides roofing, do you do gutters, siding, windows and paint in Erie?

Yes. We replace gutters, repair and replace siding, handle hail-damaged windows, screens and wraps, and do exterior painting in Erie, usually on the same job and the same insurance claim as the roof, so one team is responsible for the whole outside.

Can one hail claim in Erie cover the roof, gutters and paint?

Often, when the storm damaged them. Gutters, downspouts, screens, siding and paint are commonly part of a hail claim. We photograph every elevation so they’re on the record; your insurer decides what’s covered, and you pay your deductible.

My Erie home was built in the 2000s. What should I have checked?

On a 2000s home we look closely at the roof’s age and layers, the decking, the flashing where roofs meet walls, gutter size and fascia, and any older siding or paint. Builder-grade roofs and gutters from that era are often due after a few hail seasons. The free inspection covers all of it, with photos.
